Q. How do I access the full text of an article?

You can search from the Libraries homepage with Discover to get access. You'll find that some articles are available online at Smith, while others aren't.

  • You may need to click on a link that says "Check for Full Text" to bring up a menu showing online access options.
  • If you're off-campus you need to login with your Smith username and password to get to Smith's full text resources.
  • Watch a video tutorial on how to use Discover Advanced Search to find full text articles.

Have a specific article citation, with journal name?

  • Use Publication Finder to search by the periodical or newspaper title, and add the year if you know it.

Article not available online at Smith? No problem...

  • First try searching the internet -- you might find an author's work available Open Access.
  • You can click on the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) link in the Full Text Finder menu. We'll get the article from another library and send you a scan by email.

Does Smith only have the print journal offsite in SC Annex?
